WHEN

The excursion to the Fassa Valley will be held on Wednesday, July 17.

Departure by regular bus is scheduled for 8:07 a.m. from the Bolzano Bus Station. We will be back in Bolzano by 7 p.m. The cost of the return ticket is about €8. The duration of the bus ride is 1 hour and 20 minutes.

WHERE

We will reach the village of Vigo and be hosted at the Istitut Cultural Ladin "Majon di Fascegn" where we will be introduced to the various Ladin language protection and planning activities. Here you will find the many linguistic and documentary resources made available by the Institute.

 

LUNCH

Lunch is packed and there will be time to move around independently, observe the landscape (including the linguistic landscape!), visit the village center, have coffee, etc. Appropriate clothing for the mountain environment is recommended.

 

FIELDWORK

Participants will divide into two groups and, supervised by teachers, will carry out a field investigation with some informants aimed at collecting lexical/ethnographic data in one case and sociolinguistic and grammatical data in the other.
